A new beginning..............

It's a new beginning for me, and the feeling is really great.
Finally I achieved what I dreamt of 2.5 years ago.
I still remember the day when I ran away from my BPO job without knowing what I was doing and what I wanted from life.
I consider myself really lucky that at that time I decided to get into ORACLE.
And even luckier that unknowingly I got into ORACLE DBA.
And again even more luckier that things really started come in place one after another, ofcourse I have worked hard to get things in place for me.
I had to close the chapter of SQLSTAR to open the new chapter of POLARIS...
It's the start of a new chapter, which again I want to enjoy thoroughly like I did at SQLSTAR.
It's been a week and one thing I have observed that there are new things to be learnt everyday.
At times I get amazed when I see the whole team working, there is so less time to think, the brains run faster than a Ferrari.
I find myself like a novice in front of them....
At times I think I may not be able to do all these things...work like them.
But then it reminds me of my starting days at SQLSTAR..
And then I assure myself that it's just a matter of some time and some hardwork required and then I will be like one of them.
AT this point in time Life's looking good & exciting & challenging
and I am ready to face it, enjoy it.

Last Batch…Last Few Days…….

So I just finished my last batch with sqlstar, but I am glad that my last batch was a corporate batch at capgemini.
I always felt that it would be great to go for training in corprates, and yes now after handling one I can say dat it definitely is a great feeling.
I was a little anxious on the first day but then from the second day I suppose I started enjoying it and had a good time. The participants were good, they dint give me a hard time , so all was well.
I got only couple of days left at sqlstar and I want to enjoy it, the last couple of days with some great colleagues.

RAAJNEETI

I am so thankful to Prakash Jha for making this movie, the reason being that it has helped me so much to come out of the misery of kites.
After a long time there's a movie with such a nicely woven storyline, dialouges with so much impact, characters that you can connect to, the background score which is a perfect match for such a story and above all the value for your money.
I must say that Prakash Jha has done a really commendable job in bringing together the characters of Mahabharata in today's time and what better way to show it all through the dirty indian poltics.
At this point in time I must compare the two filmmakers in current time who believe in making realistic movies on various issues.
First one being Prakash Jha(Gangajal,Apharan etc...) and then Madhur Bhandarkar(chandne bar, Page 3, fashion).
What puts Prakash Jha a notch above madhur Bhandarakar is that with Prakash's movies people connect far better than Madhur's movies and the reason behind that Prakash's movies are far more easier to understand.
Within the first 5 minutes of watching the movie I knew that I am not mistaken by going for this movie.
The thing that I liked most was that even though I knew what is going to happen next
(because of my familiarity to Mahabharata) the story and the charater portrayl had the ability to make me tied down to my seat for almost three hours.
The way Ranbir Kapoor has acted ,it shows that acting runs through his blood.
He has completly overshadowed every other actor in this movie.
What you would like is that he has acted through his face , just by looking at his facial expression you can figure out what he is thinking and is going to happen next, you can't help but just get awed by him.
Although I felt that Ajay Devgan had nothing much to do but he again justifies the role of a new age Karna, another thing about him is that these kind of roles are the one which belongs to his domain and suits his appearance on the screen, I have said it time and again that he is the only few actors who can act just through their eyes, he just doesn't need a dialogue for so many scenes.
I do feel that Katrina's role was not justified or I would say that the hype that was created regarding her role did not fulfill my expectations as there are very few scenes with her in the frame.
Nana patekar, plays the role of 'solution provider' Krishna with so much sincerity and ease that only a seasoned actor like him can do.
Arjun Rampal has definately improved as an actor and what impresses him is his screen presence, the appearance that you can't ignore.Althogh it was evident that he found all those 'theth' hindi lines difficult to say.
As for Manoj Bajpai it was a tailor made role for him and he has made full justification to it.
I have said a lot of goody-goody now some letdowns.
A few of the scenes and the dialogues looked ridicules which could have been the strongest scenes like the scene where Ranbir(Ajay's as well) goes to meet Ajay Devgan, the scene in which Arjun Rampal and Ranbir's girlfriend Dies, I couldn't find the grief that someone goes through when their loved one's are murdered.
Another scene where Ranbir shoots Ajay Devgan, I dint find the emotion/anger that Arjun in Mahabharta had towards Karna/Duryodhana for killing them.
I am mentioning these few scenes which should have been the one what I call
'Movie-maker/movie-breaker' scenes.
With all these UP's and a few Down's it's a must watch and it deservs a ****.

Kites....Pleas fly away

Such a big letdown it was ...........
The first thing that I coluldn’t understand and failed to find a single reason why it was named kites .
There’s no relation between the name of the movie and the story (Is there any story at all ?)
I dont have anything positive to say , because there was nothing that I liked or connected to throughout the movie.
How can the roshan's make such a terrible movie and expect it to be a launching vehichle for Hritik in hollywood, it's the worst film that Rakesh roshan has made till date.
What surprised me was how can Rakesh roshan and Anuraag basu go so horribly wrong.
It seemed that Anuraag basu forgot the basics of storytelling while directing the movie.
The story credit goes to Rakesh Roshan but it's the director's job to make a script look like a movie , which I know he is very much capable but this time he really goofed it up.
I can’t believe that this movie is a brainchild of people who has made movies like ‘karan-arjun’,’koi mil gaya’,’gangster’,’life in a metro’ etc…
Hritik is looking the best till date but hell I dint pay to look at his razorsharp body or the much hyped bare back of Barbara Mori .
Barbara definately looked hot and it was a good change for the Indian audience to see a different face on screen.
At the same time I don’t know what Kangana was doing(actually the same goes for all the actors).
I have been scratching my head to find to write something good about the movie and the only thing dat was somewhat average in the movie is the picturisation in bits and pieces.
Two songs that has been topping the charts fail to impress miserably in the movie.
The songs suddenly start playing irrespective of the scenes.
Even Hritik has tried his hands at singing and its better if I don’t comment on it.
So at the end I could only say that the whole family has gone wrong in their work.
And sorry I really cant rate this movie.

ISHQIYA

A single word that can be used to described this would be 'Masterpiece'.
The day I saw it's promo for the first time, I knew that I am going to watch this movie.
I will start with the name of the movie which definately played a big role in getting my attention towards it.
But after watching the movie I think it could easily have been named '1 phool 2 maali'.
The first scence only is much more than enough to gather the attention of the audience and after that there is not a single scene or a minute in the movie where you will get bored.
It's a very simple story of how two thieves fall in love with a widow of and how she uses them.
It's simple story packaged in a manner that you will fall in love with.
The USP of the film is it's dialogues which are hilarious and the dialogue dilivery of all the three actors.
The script writer and director has definately done a lot of research in how the people speak in north indian villages.
All the 3 leading characters have done full justice to their roles.
But it's naseeruddin shah who steals the show.
IN his role of 'Khalu jaan' he comes across as a person whom you definately will like most among the three actors.
Vidya Balan is looked stunning, you will get to see a new side of her in this movie, which to a certain extent surprised me(the deadlock scene, I would call it a deadlock rather than using the
actual word that describes the scene because it was much more than that).
But the surprise package is Arshad Warsi, it would have been difficult for any actor to get noticed in a frame where naseeruddin shah is standing but the way arshad warsi has enacted this role,it
only makes my belief stronger that bollywood hasn't been able to tap in his talent and potential as an actor.
The improvement he has shown in his acting from the time he started his career is
really commendable.
I loved the director's attention towards detailing.
Not many people wil notice the character of the small boy called "Nandu", the way that boy has said his lines in a north indian accent is really remarkable.
What I liked about him is that he caught this inability of many north indians who face a tough time in pronouncing 'r'.
Vishal Bharadwaaj's music is outstanding as always.
'Dil baccha' is already topping the charts across nation, and in the film also the song has been
picturised on Naseeruddin shah so beautifully that those 5-6 minutes from the film are my best.
The new generation of directors that is coming up with unique stories is really a positive sign for bollywood, the quality of films that are now coming from bollywood is really good.
You will never feel that this movie is made by a first time director(Abhishek Chaubey)and also full credit to Vishal Bharadwaj for producing such a movie.
The only problem I had from the movie is that there is nothing dramatic in the movie, as I already said it's a very simple story packaged in an attractive manner and some really solid performance by the actors.
SO in all if it comes to rating then ISHQIYA definately scores a 4/5 and it's a must watch.
